The Parish Council in Great Barford is made up of 11 elected Councillors. The Councillors are not paid, it is a voluntary role. The Full Council of 11 Councillors meets on the 3rdTuesday evening of each month at the village hall. The Parish Council also has a number of Committees which meet on the 1st Tuesday of each month as needed. The Committees are as follows:
- Parks and Open Spaces
- Property and assets
- Neighbourhood Plan
- Parish magazine
Agendas for all meetings are published on the Parish Council website and on the village noticeboards on the village green, opposite the village shop and on the playing field. Minutes from all meetings can be found on the Parish Council website.
Members of the public are always welcome to attend any of the Parish Council meetings. There is an open section at the Full Council meeting to allow members of the public to raise any issues or ask questions of the Parish Council. Committees will always facilitate a time for people to ask questions as well.

The Parish Council meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month (Committees) and the 3rd Tuesday of each month (Full Council) with the exception of August. Members of the public are welcome to attend and there is the opportunity to raise any issues at the meeting. All Parish Council meetings are held at the village hall and start at 7.30pm.
